Getting off Auto and starting to use the camera as nature intended is the first step to being truly in control of your personal creative process. This is where you take control and the camera becomes the tools for beautiful pictures that you made, not the micro processor, but you!
With your camera in hand you may feel it's easier to leave it in Auto mode or use one of the pre-set modes such as Sports, Portrait, Low-Light, Close-up, or Landscape modes that your camera may have. This, of course, is completely fine. Its your camera, and something I will always bang on about is life is too short for it to really matter.
However. Consider this. You will be putting full creative control in the hands of the micro-processor within your camera. This creative control could be yours and will lead to years of some of the most satisfying and personally fulfilling work that you created. Does that sound better?
Nothing about using manual settings on your camera is difficult. Its just something to learn and once you get it you will wonder why you didn’t start shooting manually earlier.

This course is designed to introduce the photographer to the manual settings of their camera to gain maximum control and creativity.
The next course is 2nd June 2019 from 1pm to 5pm and is £25 per person.
The course will cover the following.
This course is available in both half day and in a full day.
All day course start at 10:00 prompt and finish at 17:00. Half days start at 13:00 to 16:30All refreshments and also lunch is provided on those attending a day course. (Please let us know if any dietary requirements).
Travel is to be arranged by delegates at your own expense.
If accommodation is required we can send you details of local hotels and bed & breakfasts.
Most of our courses will involve some aspect of outdoor work so its very important that you bring suitable clothing and footwear for the type of course you are attending. For botanical and garden photography sturdy shoes and waterproofs are a must when the landscape courses may involve ascending high Welsh peaks so walking boots and quality hiking gear will be mandatory. Don’t hesitate to contact me for any advice about this.
